What They Do
Indus Action helps vulnerable Indians access government entitlements to education, maternity and livelihood support. Working at three levels, Indus Action’s research and fieldwork help diagnose barriers to social benefits uptake, provide data, tech capacity-building, and insights to state governments, and address known obstacles while enabling citizens to become active problem-solvers. ~900,000+ Indians have accessed their welfare rights with support from Indus Action in the past ten years. They envision supporting another 2.5 million families to access their entitlements by 2025, and helping them out of poverty.

What They Do
Rocket Learning creates digital support communities of parents and teachers, delivering age-appropriate, play-based learning content via Whatsapp groups. Their approach focuses on the 35 million children in India lacking access to quality early childhood education. By first grade, 45% of children cannot recognize a single letter. Rocket Learning informs, empowers, and motivates adults to support children's learning. Their solution has demonstrated learning gains and scalability at an annual cost of only 50-cents per child.

What They Do
ConsiliumBots uses technology and data to help people make important decisions by turning complex and underutilized information into virtual assistance and personalized recommendations across education, housing, and other areas of government programs. Research has shown that providing relevant information at the right time can make a significant difference in students' trajectory by reducing school dropouts and introducing education options with better job prospects. They have so far created 36 digital solutions to address information asymmetries, supporting 3.9 million parents, students, and teachers from over 7 countries in the region. Some of these digital solutions have now been adopted as national public policies.

Innovator fellowship, funding for scale, learning partner technical assistance
What They Do
Youth Impact implements and scales evidence-based health and education programs by young people for young people. Their Zones program engages youth to deliver a sexual health curriculum that informs and empowers young people to make safer sexual choices, reducing risky sexual behavior by up to 50%. During the COVID pandemic, Youth Impact developed ConnectEd, a phone call and SMS tool to improve numeracy during remote learning. Youth Impact is pioneering the use of A/B testing in the social sector to optimize programs on the path to scale, conducting 25 rapid trials in just the last 36 months.
